How to donate to WRFU

WRFU is a community-based all volunteer operation. Our operating costs are mostly taken care of through membership dues, but we did rely heavily on donations to help us get the radio station started. If you would like to make a contribution (monetary or in kind) here’s how to do it.

WRFU is a working group of the Independent Media Center, which is a 501c3 tax-exempt non-profit. This means that any donations made to WRFU or the IMC will be tax deductible for you! Our 501c3 number is 37-1403593.

Donations can be made by check or submitted via Paypal on our website. Please send checks to us at:

WRFU
202 South Broadway #112
Urbana, IL 61801

Please make sure to clearly put “For WRFU” in the memo of your check. Otherwise the donation will go to the IMC.

To make a donation via PayPal, just click on the link below:

For any questions about donations, please contact the WRFU Finance Group at rfu-finance@wrfu.net

Thanks for supporting us!

Many thanks to all those that have supported (and continue to support) Radio Free Urbana. We wouldn't be here if it weren't for you guys! Below is a (mostly) complete list of those individuals, groups, and businesses that have supported our station.

Sorry it's taken so long for us to get this page up to recognize all of you wonderful people! Our tardiness certainly does not reflect the fact that we owe you guys big time!!! Thanks again!

And the many who attended WRFU fundraising events and donated at our Farmer’s Market table, as well as a very generous anonymous donor, along with Pete Tridish, the entire Prometheus Radio Project team, David Johnson and his “can-do” building trades crew, and all those who came and helped with building the station at the barnraising. Thanks to anyone else we didn’t mention that donated money, time, or supplies to Radio Free Urbana.
